Dr. Mehaffey was born and raised in the countryside near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From early on he played a number of sports. As a competitive goalie he suffered multiple injuries, including multiple concussions his senior year of high school, leaving him brain damaged. University of Pittsburgh Medical Center neurologists said his brain would never fully recover. Hearing there was nothing traditional medicine could do to heal his brain Dr. Mehaffey’s family learned upper cervical chiropractic care could fully allow his brain to heal and help alleviate a list of others symptoms he was suffering from: depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, brain fog, back pain, and knee pain. His upper cervical doctor explained that when the brain stem is unable to communicate because the top two bones are misaligned the brain and body are disconnected leading to a host of issues. After his first upper cervical adjustment his brain fog started to diminish, a sense of ease coursed through his body, and his peripheral vision came back instantly! Over the course of 5 months a new brain scan was done to show full 100% brain healing. Upper cervical chiropractic care changed Dr. Mehaffey’s life and fueled his desire to help others receive the same healing benefits upper cervical chiropractic care offers.
After receiving his bachelor of Natural Science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania a year ahead of schedule Dr. Mehaffey enrolled in the largest chiropractic college in the world, Life University outside of Atlanta, Georgia. There he learned the importance of the upper cervical region and why most chiropractic research comes from upper cervical adjustments.
After graduation, Dr. Mehaffey worked in Charleston, South Carolina as well as Charlotte, North Carolina under two upper cervical doctors. Dr. Mehaffey, his wife Jenna, and dog Winnie decided to start their family and open his practice outside the Charlotte region in the beautiful Fort Mill/Tega Cay/Lake Wylie area.
